In March of this year, Jiangsu Interstate Digital invested 80 million yuan to introduce 3 paint Single Passes and 10 high-speed scanning devices. The plan is to build a digital printing intelligent factory with a daily output of 2 million meters in the next two years, which has attracted widespread attention. Recently, Fashion Printing visited the Interstate Digital Hai'an Branch and conducted an exclusive interview with Yuan Kang, the manager of the Interstate Digital Marketing Department, and Li Hui, the director of the Hai'an Branch, to understand the interstate digital market planning and the current situation of the Hai'an Factory.

The interstate digital Hai'an factory currently has a total of 9 Hongmei 48 head machines and 3 Honghua Pingwang+digital printing machines. According to Director Li, the orders at the Haian factory are as abundant as ever, with over one million meters of orders completed in less than a month after the start of the new year's construction. And the production speed is very fast, reaching nearly 1000 meters per hour. For the same processing of 10000 meters of goods, their team of workers is often faster than traditional flat screen printing production lines.

01 Digital printing orders are growing rapidly!

When it comes to orders, Manager Yuan said that they mainly gain order growth by competing with traditional printing, and under similar conditions, many customers will prioritize digital printing. Because nowadays the market's acceptance of digital printing is increasing, unlike before when it was only seen as a supplement to traditional printing. Digital printing with coatings began mass production in June 2023, with an expected production of 4.5 million to 5 million meters by the end of the year. However, we actually produced around 6.5 million meters by the end of the year, far exceeding our expectations and reflecting the high level of customer recognition for digital printing with coatings

Manager Yuan also gave examples of other reasons why some customers are shifting from traditional to digital printing: "A customer who previously worked in traditional printing told me that his annual inventory was converted into cash of about 30-40 million yuan, or even more, but being kept in the warehouse without circulation was equivalent to dead money. If he could save 30% to 50% of his inventory and use this money for development and marketing, his business volume might double even more than it is now. There is a saying that cash is king, and money without circulation will only continue to depreciate. Compared to traditional printing, digital printing can significantly help customers reduce inventory pressure and achieve rapid turnover. This is one of the reasons why many traditional printing customers are willing to transform to digital printing

02 Digital printing is replacing traditional methods

In recent years, Interstate Digital has been committed to transforming traditional industry supply chains through digital production technology, and has also promoted paint printing to compete directly with traditional printing. When it comes to whether digital printing will replace tradition, Director Li said, "Digital printing will gradually replace tradition, but every industry has a cycle, so it takes time for digital printing to replace a large part or a certain percentage of tradition. In the entire printing industry, digital printing is still a relatively new thing, and whether it is ink, color, or speed, it has been constantly improving and enhancing

I have told my clients before that the speed of mobile phone updates and iterations is so fast, and now digital printing equipment, including raw material updates and iterations, is also so fast. Every year or six months, a new model is launched, which not only upgrades the original parameters but also solves some of the previous drawbacks. Therefore, in the future, digital printing will only become stronger and better

03 2024 or the turning point of pigment printing?

Regarding the layout of interstate digital printing in paint digital printing, Manager Yuan said that in the past, there were not many paints on the market, which were often used for sampling or as a supplementary process. However, in the second half of last year, paint began to grow significantly. Even if they wanted to install the coating machine at that time, they might have had to queue up because there were too many people buying the machine. Now, they would pre order the installation in advance, and as soon as the machine arrived, they would start installing it and put it into production.

In terms of the market, according to our feelings, this year may be a turning point for paint printing. Because in the past, we took the initiative to introduce paint to customers, but since the second half of last year, many customers have started to come to us and ask us how to do this model now, how to solve some difficulties, and so on. Therefore, Director Li believes that the time is ripe for digital printing of paint, the price is suitable, and the process can also meet customer needs, which is enough to compete with traditional printing.

04 Single Pass will be widely used!

At the beginning of this year, Interstate Digital purchased 3 Honghua Paint Single Passes and 10 high-speed scanners at once, and will also purchase 15 Single Passes and 50 scanners in the future. Taking this opportunity, Director Li said that they are also following the market. Now that the market is mature enough, Interstate Digital has a professional team to apply Single Passes well. And the Single Pass needs to be applied in actual production by someone, so that problems can be discovered and solved in actual production, and it is also conducive to promoting the development of the entire industry.

05 Is the integration of the entire industry chain the future of digital printing?

Manager Yuan revealed, "In addition to digital printing, Interstate Digital also hopes that our upstream and downstream industries can provide us with more and greater support. Some of our customers also hope that we can provide more comprehensive processing services. Now we are connecting with some factories to cooperate and create a full industry chain to directly provide finished products to customers, so that customers can resell them. And I believe that the integration of the entire industry chain is also the future trend of the industry.
